Restormel Manor is one of our most historic and cherished houses and sits within beautiful parkland around one mile from the medieval town of Lostwithiel.
A wonderful retreat, this Strawberry Hill Gothic styled mansion is perfect for a large group or special celebration. Restormel Manor encompasses three separate wings of the main manor house, which can be let as one to accommodate up to 18 guests, plus cots. The three wings comprise Dairy House, Manor House and Trinity.
For parties of varying sizes, this flexible accommodation can also be split to house 14 guests staying in Manor House incorporating Dairy House or 12 guests in Manor House incorporating Trinity. All three properties can also be let separately, please see individual properties in the property overview.
Restormel Manor is approximately 500 years old and sits on the site of the ancient Holy Trinity Chapel. The manor has been extensively refurbished and great care has been taken to retain the character of the house and its historic features. The interior is beautifully furnished to suit the style of the property, with a mixture of period and contemporary furniture.
Accommodation at Restormel Manor includes three sitting rooms, a dining room, three kitchens, boot rooms, cloak rooms, larders, five double bedrooms, of which three are en suite, four twin bedrooms with one en suite, two further bathrooms and a shower room.
The three sitting rooms vary in style from the large and refined Manor House sitting room with an open fireplace to the more informal Dairy House sitting room with its large wood burner and deep, comfortable sofas. Trinity’s sitting room is a haven of peace and tranquility with views over parkland and the River Fowey. All have high quality soft furnishings, a TV, DVD player, Roberts Radio and board games.
Restormel Manor has a beautiful and elegant dining room with an 18-place dining table perfect for memorable entertaining.
There are three dining kitchens, all equipped with dishwasher, fridge freezer, electric range cooker and a wide selection of modern cookware, crockery, glassware and cookbooks. A washing machine and dryer are located in a separate utility room.
Restormel Manor has nine bedrooms, all located on the first floor: three double bedrooms with king size beds and en-suite bathrooms, two further double bedrooms with king size beds, and four twin bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom. All of our bedrooms have comfortable beds with Egyptian cotton bed linen.
There are an ample number of well-equipped bathrooms and shower rooms on the first floor, with several being en suite.
Private garden areas have been created to the side and rear of Restormel Manor, with beautiful views over parkland to the front and the River Fowey to the side and rear. Garden furniture and barbecues are provided to really make the most of fine weather.
Restormel Manor enjoys extensive leisure facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, children's play area, tennis court and games room.
“We took the whole Manor for 18 and had a simply brilliant time. Lots of long walks and then very happy dinners back in the dining room. We could not fault the comfort in any way, it was totally wonderful in every respect. We swam, played ping pong, slept – I wish we could have stayed longer.”
